Who

I’m Alina, Russian with the background traditional enough to learn from my youth the art of sewing and embroidery from elders and futurist enough to combine both aspects together.

I started as a dancer before I began to create clothes for stage performers and then my further education and experience, in art and history as well as the woman body as inspiration itself, brought me to create corsets.

I never stop to feed my curiosity by art, fashion and new handcraft technics so I’m on perpetual search for new forms, patterns and its possibilities.

Why

I have been working for a decade in women clothing when my eyes gazed upon one of the most mysterious objects of feminine wardrobe - on the corset. Praised and judged at the same time through centuries, its shape captured me and I decided to dedicate all my attention to this art form of creating corsets, finding inspiration in historical garments and combining it with a modern touch. With the idea that our whole life is a permanent balance between the past and future.

Although each corset is an unique art piece itself, it won’t be delicate due to the usage of only high quality materials and stiff stitches guaranteeing a long life. The corsets emphasize all types of bodies and adapts to its unique form. My made-to measure corsets are based on historical patterns. I only choose trustable fabrics for my handmade corsets such as cotton and natural silk as corset material. My clients actively take part in the corset making process, beginning with giving me their unique body measurements and choosing the placement of the busk.

Bending together the handcraft art taught me by elder generations and restructured original form of corset my idea is to make it comfortably wearable for the modern woman – free and strong. So every woman could emphasize her own style and creative personality through the art of the corset made by exigence to the high quality and meticulous attention to details. My idea is to explore the maximum possibilities of this cloth object making it an art piece, serving for the very special occasions as well as for everyday life. I want my clients to be part of the process letting them choose the emplacement of the busk and other garments as well as the number of centimetres of their waist.
